The Quick Way to Take Your Businesses Marketing to the Next Level

Let’s play a quick game of word association. I will say a word and you just say the first thing that comes to mind.

Cola?

Golden Arches?

Famous actor or musician?

You probably wouldn’t be surprised to know that everyone has an answer to these questions. And that most people’s answers are the same. What kind of sorcery is this? There is none. Just top of mind awareness.

There is no higher goal in business. Top of mind awareness is when someone thinks of a product or service, and immediately think of a company or brand. Just think about how most people to this day refer to a vacuum cleaner as a hoover.

Local businesses should have this in their minds too. Not on a global scale, but within their local market. you want to be the name that everyone thinks of when they think of your product or service.

How would you even go about this behemoth task? It all starts with 3 letters.

How to Make Sure Your Business is Top of Mind with 3 Letters

Lots of businesses are doing quite well on their own. They don’t need to do a lot more to maintain their current operating levels. But lots of businesses don’t want to just let life (and customers) come to them on a whim, they want more certainty.

Most businesses start off on the right tracks. To grow and get more people through the door you need to get your name and face out there more. The problem that occurs is how they go about it.

Just having multiple social media accounts that you do the odd post on is not going to cut it. Everyone is inundated with ads and posts all day long. What is going to make yours stand out and resonate with people? How will your make people take action?

Introducing the CTA.

The ‘Call To Action’.

Not only the quickest, but the cheapest way for a local business to achieve top of mind awareness of potential customers.

Utilising the CTA to Get Ultimate Customer Commitment

If you have a service-based business then you in for a treat. This applies to you whether you are a landscaper, dog groomer, or accountant. If you provide a service this will make sure you get top levels of customer engagement.

As a business you need to first consider what you are doing so people see your business. You would probably start making social media posts, running some ads, and telling everyone you possibly know about your business venture.

This is the perfect start. The more mediums you are on, the greater chance someone will stumble upon you.

You cannot stop there though.

You need to pair this with the CTA. Proper application of the CTA gets your ideal customer to want to get in touch with you ASAP.

Some good examples:

-          Get our FREE e-book by entering your email below.

-          Learn how to do X by clicking to watch the following video.

-          Message us on [number] to get your FREE quote in less than 24 hours.

All of these make it super easy for someone to say, ‘yes please, I could use some help with that’. Get in the shoes of a customer and ask yourself if you were in their position, needing what you sold, would they easily say ‘yes’?

This can easily be messed up though. You can get overly excited and think that more is better in a CTA. E.g., asking one of the following variations:

-          Click below to book a 30-minute call with us

-          Message, call, or email us to get access to XYZ

The first is too much of a commitment when someone doesn’t know who you are. The second just confuses someone, leading to them not getting in touch at all.

Utilising the CTA to Make Anyone Pay Attention to Your Business

You should be itching to start including CTAs into your businesses marketing.

It is surprising how many businesses are not using them and losing out on clients left right and centre as a result. For something that is so quick and easy to include, the return on investment is out of this world.

Consider this. You not only attract people who want to buy right now. You also get people who might want to buy later down the line. You start to build this list of interested people that you can follow up on in an effort to get them to buy when they are ready.

If your CTA is low barrier (e.g., an email address), then you will get people saying, ‘yes’ quicker than you can say ‘CTA’.

The hidden beauty of the CTA is that it is not a one-trick pony. When you follow up with people who were initially interested you can include a CTA to get them to move to the next phase of your sales funnel. In most cases this will be to the stage of buying something. But again, without the CTA, you don’t give people the option to make that next move as easily.

Make sure you don’t wait around too long to add your CTA. The longer you wait to take action the longer it will be before your prospective customers will take action with your business.
